Robert Coniam and Sandra Kelly represented a shipowner in a Jones Act claim in a two-week Minnesota state court jury trial. A verdict for the seaman was reversed on the basis of a prejudicial jury instruction, and the case was remanded for a new trial in 2011. It was subsequently settled and the retrial was avoided. |
